75 and BEYOND!!!!!

This week Rob and I have focused on not drinking any soda. It was hard but we did it. I haven't really craved it either. In fact to be honest, I had one tonight after weigh in and it wasn't worth it. I didn't need it and I am thinking that from this point on I am not buying any. Water is great and I enjoy drinking it. So here is to H2O!!! :O)

Weigh in was great for both of us tonight. I lost 3. 2 pounds so that brings my total to 78.2!!! HECK YES!!!!

Hubby weighed in and he lost 4.4 for a total of 8 pounds. He is doing awesome and that is just in two weeks!!! AWESOME!!!

So this week, Rob is working on lowering carbs that he eats in the morning. My goal is to stick to my exercise plan and to continue forward on to my goal!!!

Happy Eating!

Will I get that 75 pound marker tonight????

Today was d-day for me with weigh in. I have been craving the 75 pound mark and tonight was going to be the night. I had worked so hard this past week in counting what I ate and exercising twice every day for an hour each time. I worked my butt off. I got on the scale and I was down 1 pound....that was ALL I needed!! I had done it, LOST 75 POUNDS!!!! Holy Moly that was insane!!! I was soooooo excited. I went and showed my leader and she told me GREAT JOB!!! I got my new 75 pound marker that goes on my key-chain. I am soo proud!! I will continue to work hard though and get to my goal. Only thirty more pounds to go and the hardest I am sure.

Rob lost 3.6 pounds this week. So proud of him!!!!!

Our goal this week, NO carbonated beverages...BRING ON THE CAFFEINE HEADACHES!!! :O)

I am Shrinking!!!

Angel Oak, Tomato Shed, and the Market

Today, Rob and I got up early as usual on Saturday and went to the gym. We had our one hour workout and then came home. We showered and got dressed to set out on our first adventure of the year. We left the house around 11am and headed down I-26 towards Charleston. We used our GPS to get us to the Angel Oak on Johns Island. Neither of us had been to the oak before and I had wanted to see it for the past few years. We went down the dirt road and came to it.We drove in. parked and then were in AWE of the huge, beautiful oak. The tree was not only HUGE in the branches but the truck of the tree was ginormous! The branches were so long and a few had grown back into the ground and then came back up out of the ground. Rob and I took lots of pictures so that we could remember the trip. We took one together in front of it too. I love documenting our journeys in pictures. We also got a magnet for the fridge too.

After looking at the tree for a while, we went to get some lunch. We had passed a place called The Tomato Shed at Stono Market on the way to the oak. We went back there to eat lunch. They only serve lunch from 11:30 til 2:00. We walked in and it was a small eating area with tables and chairs, some nic nacs for purchasing, and a market on the other side. We wrote our name on the clipboard and waited to be called to sit down. We didn't have to wait too long and our name was called. We sat at the end of a large table and an older lady was at the other end. We didn't mind sharing. We both ordered and were told to that we could get our drinks for a table in the back corner and our utensils. We both ordered a spicy pimento cheeseburger. I had chips with mine and Rob had loaded potato salad with his. Rob also had a cup of she crab soup. I tried it, was not impressed but its because I got lots of the sherry that on top and I didnt care for. My cheeseburger was AMAZING. I could have eaten two of them I think but then again I would be over doing it. I tasted Robs loaded potato salad--DELICIOUS!!! We alos bought two small loaf breads--zucchini nut bread and apple cinnamon bread..I think. After our meal at the Tomato Shed decided to head to downtown.

We got to downtown and parked in the same parking lot we have been using since we were dating. We pay our seven dollars for the day an walk everywhere we want to go. We walked through the market, which has changed and I'm not sure how i like it yet. We looked at the lovely items for sell and decided to call Coast to see if our reservations were still in tact. We called and were told that they were booked til 9:00 that night so we cancelled. We walked by the Charleston Crab House and decided to make reservations there. We walked in and put our names down for 6pm. We had plenty of time to walk around and piddle before needing to head back there for supper. We started to walk to a dessert shop and as we got further from Market St. I started to question walking there. We weren't too sure of the area, although we were using GPS on Robs phone, so we turned around. We got back to King Street and got some Starbucks. Rob ordered a vanilla iced coffee and I had a skim milk hot chocolate, no whip! I also ordered a salted caramel square just to try it. I had a bit and gave the rest to Rob not realizing I told him he could have it, he did eat it all. OOPS! He got his coffee and HATED it, I love mine!!! I will order for him next time :O). After enjoying our coffee we walked back towards Market Street. We went to the Tervis Tumbler store and I found one with an OWL on it!!! I had to buy it!!! We then went to the moon pie store and we had some ice-cream, yes before we had supper!!! After eating ice-cream we decided to walk towards the crab house. We stopped at a few more stores along the way too to waste time.

We got the Charleston Crab House and because it was restaurant week they had specials running where you could get three items for 20 bucks!! Rob and I loved that and the plus was there was stuff we wanted on the deal!! I ordered fried green tomatoes as my appetizer and Rob had she crab soup (yes, AGAIN!). They were so good. After the appetizer, we had our entree of course. I had crab cakes and Rob has shrimp and grits. His was different though b/c it was more of a gravy on it but boy oh boy was it good!!! Mine were awesome too!!!! We both had key lime pie for dessert and it made me pucker---that is a good key lime pie!!! I was stuffed, overly stuffed from the meal but it was soooo worth it!!!

We headed back home after supper. Today was the best day! We got to see a beautiful creation by God, enjoy awesome food, and spend some time together exploring. I love my life. I wouldnt change places with anyone.

Ready for our next adventure!!! :O)

Lancaster for the Weekend

Rob headed to Lancaster on Friday around three o'clock so that he could attend a wrestling event. I went up later with roddy due to not have enough leave yet to just take off when I want to. Roddy and I left around 5:15 and he whined the ENTIRE way!!!!! Well it was more of on and off spurts but it was annoying. Any tips on how to travel with a dog is appreciated. So we made it to the house and my awesome mother in law told me rob had called and said there was only ten people at the event. Not good. I went and picked up chicfila for supper and then sat around with my mil. Roddy adores her and loves all the attention he gets. Spoiled is his middle name. We watched say yes to the dress and then we were ready for bed so she took the dogs out and rob walked in. I still went to bed but he did tell me that the show was good and they would be having another one in February so we would come back for that one too.

Saturday we were lazy, well I was lazy, and slept til about 9:30. I got up, had grits and toast...yum, for breakfast, then for dressed for the day. We decided to go to Catawba fish camp for lupper.I ate myself into a food coma. That food is delicious!!!! We then went home and I took a long nap, not sure what the others did. I did wake up and eat a small snack but then it was time to go to bed again.

Sunday, we went to Catawba for church. It was nice to see everyone there again. I especially love how everyone greets you. That is what I find in small country churches, people greet you with a smile and a handshake. Its not just people at the door either, its everyone in the church. We were greeted by Stacey Kirkley :O) After church we went to the new hibachi restaurant. MIL had never been and doesnt go to restaurants outside the norm so we went. It was pretty good. The service was somewhat slow but it was good. I hope they last longer than other restaurants have but who knows in this economy. After eating, Rob and I headed back to Orangeburg. We got home, unpacked and then went to bed.

Oh the life of the Truesdales is so intriguing. We eat, sleep, and travel. Life is Grand!!

First WW Meeting of Year

Tonight was the first meeting of the year. I decided not to weigth tonight but to buy my new pass and start fresh. Since Christmas and gmas passing I have not been tracking or exercising so I opted to chicken out of this weigh in. While I was there though I noticed a ton of new people and the room was full. Its like this every year though at new years because its resolution time. If all the people who were there tonight would stick with it it would be great but half will stop by march, sad but true. I am on the bandwgon to lose my final thirty. I want to lose ten by the end of April.....that is my first mini goal of the year.

I also want to get involved in more walks so if you know of any send them my way!!!!

Happy Resolution time!!!!

Back on Track!!!

So the past couple weeks have been a little tough for me to stay on track with eating and exercising. I am committed to getting the last thirty to forty pounds off to get to my goal weight. I am trying to eat well and track now that I am back home. Drinking water is my goal this month. I love my diet drinks and need to cut them out but its so hard.

I am not weighing this week but will be going to the meeting to get my new pass and to be energized. I know I gained and I want to work hard to get it off and will face the scale next week.

Fingers crossed I will get out of my bed in the mornings to go exercise but this cold weather is beating me up.

Time to get moving!!!

Happy New Year!!!

I have been staying at my parents since g-ma passed away on Wednesday. I wanted to spend as much time with my family as possible since we live out of the county. I went to church this morning and sat beside my bubba. He was going for the first time without the love of his life right beside him. I sat by him and was there when everyone talked to him and greeted him. He told them that this is where she would have wanted him to be. We sang the first hymn and I loved listening to my bubba sing right beside me. It was the best. He needed a little help finding the other hymn page so I gave him my book. My gma did this for him all the time. She would have the hymnal and bible where the bulletin told them we would be singing and the preaching would be coming from. I didnt find the passage in the bible, bubba found it himself. I enjoyed sitting by my bubba and knowing that he would be ok. He is a strong man and has a fantastic support system from family and church.

After church we went to eat our wonderful meal. It was time for fried pork chops, black eyed peas, collards, rice and gravy, and hog jowl!!! YUM!!!

After eating we all had naps and then it was time for me to head to Orangeburg to get ready for the next week. I went by bubbas to tell him I love him and to let him know we were going down the road. He told me to be careful. I told him I loved him and kissed him on his forehead like always.

I know he will be taken care of by my family but I will still worry about him.

Love him!

My 2012 Resolutions

Wow, I can't believe that its already a new year. So much has gone on this year, good and bad, happy and sad. I am ready to start the new year though. Lots planned in my head and hoping it all works out. So what are my plans (resolutions) this year.....

* continue my journey to a healthy me, wanting to lose about thirty more pounds and MAINTAIN!!!!
* be more involved at church!!!!!
* clean out my storage unit at mom and dads house-----YARDSALE!!!!!!!
* pay off my car---3 more months!!!!!
* start the process of house hunting, this is a wonderful feat we are wanting to take on and hopefully we will find what we want....not going to rush it though!
* go on several small trips during the year--gatlinburg, world of coke, cabbage patch nursery etc.
* spend more time with family
*call family more to check in
* send more cards and complete random acts of kindness when I am able
