Ok so yesterday was a day. Rob had an interesting phone call from some man who claims Rob bought some tickets and owes him money. NOT TRUE but this gentlemen thinks by using the word attorney and police will make us shake in our boots. Obviously this man does not know who he is dealing with b/c when you mess with my family we don't back down. I have been blessed with any amazing family who believes in backing up each other and making sure that the right thing is done. Grant it they do have guns and are from the south so i would fear them if i was not related to them. So again this man must have lost his mind...i did however give him a piece of mine last night which probably wasn't the most christian thing to do but it is done. Rob reminded me today that God will look after his children and sent me Psalm 37---Gods promises are amazing!!! Its amazing how things work out and that God has a plan already set in motion for what goes on in our lives.
I do have to share this little video with you though because its being passed around our office as a bit of stress relief. There is a cuss word so if you are easily offended do not hit play :O)
Rob and I have been enjoying going to the YMCA Orangeburg this week very much. Each night we get on the bikes, i do the treadmill, and rob does the mainly weight machines :O) Its nice to go and do this together and motivate each other. My husband is amazing and I am reminded each day how blessed I am when I wake up beside him and go to sleep at night beside him. Rob has a genuine heart and i love him so much!!!
Ok enough sappiness for now....more blogging later this week :O)
That is exactly how our day started out. We had warm and gooey cinnamon rolls for breakfast before we headed out to Cornerstone Community Church for the contemporary service. We decided it was time to start looking for a church home and since this one is right around the corner we decided to go there first. I had looked online to get some info about the church, beliefs, etc. so we could be somewhat familiar. We arrived and were completely in awe of the building itself and also the layout of the church. They have a coffee area, juice, bookstore, etc. where anyone who came could be comfortable. Of course growing up at PGBC in Lugoff we were very classic service, piano, choir, etc. so I was a little uncomfortable but then I realized that each person was here to worship God and to hear from Him today so there was no need for me to be nervous. We went to the Information Desk so we could know where to go and what to do. We were told were the worship area was and that it would be starting soon so if we wanted to take a seat that would be fine. We were also told about the options for the children and that they have their own church that is centered for them. Rob and I went into the worship area and took out seats. This is no ordinary church, no pews, no choir, but people who love the Lord. We sat towards the back and took it all in. There is countdown to let you know when church will begin and they were on time. The music was upbeat and fully praising the Lord God. The music was amazing and helped to get you into the spirit of worship. The Pastor, Scott Hand from the Riverfork Church Campus in Bamberg, preached today about Information+Demonstration= Transformation, its one thing to have the knowledge but you need to demonstrate what you know to have the complete transformation from the experience. We are definitely going to go back in a few weeks b/c I am on call next weekend so we will be at PGBC and then the next weekend we will be back :O)
After church we came home and I cooked!!! DUN DUN DUN!!! We had grilled pork chops, boiled potatoes and green beans! YUM YUM!! It was pretty jam up if i do say so myself. Rob enjoyed it as well. After lunch I headed back to wally world to pick up a few things.
We then watched a movie, Daybreakers, that was about vampires. This was no Twilight vampire movie for sure. BLOOD BLOOD BLOOD!!!I admit i jumped more than a few times. After the movie we took it back to the red box and then headed home.
Tonight supper----waffles and bacon!!! It was a success, i dint burn the bacon and the waffles were perfect!!!!
Now Rob is watching the forever long LOST season recap and and series finale....I am washing clothes!!!
Rob and I have been running around the past year and decided that it was time for the two of us to take a day and do whatever we wanted. So we did. We left Oburg around 11am and headed to Cola. We went to the Harbison area because its very nice and have lots of stores we like. Our tummies began growling so we headed to Fuddruckers. For those in the world not familiar with this burger place, you can order one that is 1 pound!!!! So Rob did. Yes that is correct my husband ate a one pound burger piled high with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheese, bacon, and of course the usual condiments. It was huge!!!! My tiny burger was 1/2 the size of his and it was enough. I do however love to get a ton of pickles and BBQ sauce to enjoy prior to the burger and when it arrives. After our fantastic meal we went to Casual Male where Rob bought some new shoes and a pair of swimming shorts. Man are his clothes expensive....but mine are too b/c we went to Lane Bryant and I of course stimulated the economy. After the shopping we went to see IRON MAN 2. Yes it was time for another man movie plus I actually liked the first one and figured i would enjoy this one as well. The theater was full. We moved places three times until we found the right seat but the show was great. I recommend watching it!! After the movie we went to the mall and stimulated the economy a little more.
After spending money on things we didn't necessarily need to survive, we went grocery shopping. Walmart was not bad today. We didn't have to wait in an extremely long line and Rob parked close to the door--he usually parks on the side b/c he doesn't want to get his truck messed up. i think its because he wants me to get some exercise :O)-- so we got a few things and then headed home.
I downloaded the old Super Mario Bro 2 to our Wii and it has annoyed me to no end. I will prevail!!!! After a while I played on the computer and then walked into the den where Rob was watching TV and found him passed out in the recliner, remote in hand--i should have got a pic!!
Oh well time for bed.....going to church in the morning!!
So yesterday morning I was on my way to work and *slosh* my Starbucks Colombian Coffee went all over my blue jeans (yes it was jeans at work day) and steering wheel. Well because I drive a little over an hour to work everyday I did not have time to turn around and go back home to change or I would have been late. So I had some antibacterial wipes in my car that worked very well in getting the coffee off the steering wheel, seat, and other small crevices a car should not have. After this I decided to use my hand sanitizer that is attached to my purse and clean off my hands and arm. I did so and smelled oh so lovely. I made it to work on time and as I was walking inside my hand sanitizer decided to explode onto my shirt...by this point I needed to either rewind and start my day over or fast forward to the next day. I come in and ask my boss for a do over and she said she did not have the power to make that happen. :O) I decided to go talk to Emily, amazing coworker, about this mornings unfortunate happenings. She has the same happen to her the day before--only the coffee. She just giggled...technically that's all you could do. As the progressed it was getting better. We ate at Ginza--amazing little hibachi place that you can eat at for less than 7 bucks and be full!!! Around 4:45pm my boss was outside and she yelled up the stairs to me that my tire was flat....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I was so mad. On Monday my dad had put air in the tire because I was low but we didn't know there was a gigantic nail in it!!! So I called my Daddy-O who immediately came to my place of work and took off my tire, had it repaired, and paid for it--I love that man!!! So around 6:00pm I was on my way to Oburg House of Pizza to eat with Roberts aunt and uncle. Oh it was fantastic. So even though it was a crazy day, no one was seriously injured and the world kept turning.
Word to the Wise: Always check your tires before you get on the road and never try to remove the lid to your coffee cup while driving!!!!
Today I went to SSA and patiently waited for this little old lady who reminded me of my work g-ma to move so my number could be called. This little old lady decided to empty the entire contents of her pockets on the counter. Then she decided to take a cell phone call, which is illegal in the SSA office, but continued to talk anyway. She finally got her money back in the wallet and everything else plus the kitchen sink. SOOOOOO finally my number, 133, was called and Ms. Lisa Greene took my application and wedding license to complete the process of the name change. After about five minutes with Ms. Greene, my name was officially changed to TRUESDALE!!!
My family has a beloved dachshund, whose name is Chew. His name comes from two inspirations, the obvious one being a reference to the Chewbacca character from the Star Wars films.Of course he’s not as big or burly as Chewbacca but he does have a similar color coat to the galaxy’s most famous Wookie.(My Grandmother felt he needed a name that would make him seem tough since he was so small when we got him, hence why his veterinary records have him listed as Chewbacca Rambo Catoe.) The other inspiration is from when he was a puppy; we left him alone in a room with a small wooden table and he more or less gnawed one of the legs off the thing.Needless to say, the name Chew seemed more appropriate than ever after that! My Mom & Grandma have had him for about 8 years now and they adore him, as do I.He’s incredibly intelligent and has a vocabulary that would rival those of some elementary students. What’s more, he has a personality of gold – you can look into his soft, brown eyes and almost sense the soul of a person behind them. He’s as gentle as could be, but don’t you even think of trying to take one of his favorite Chew-lotta’ bones from him, else you might leave with less fingers than you arrived.
One thing Chew brings to the household is something you might not immediately consider when thinking of a relatively well-kept animal like Chew, and that is his propensity for breaking wind as he sleeps in his little doggy beds.Much like a baby dirtying its diaper can be a rather shockingly revolting image (Like Steve Guttenberg’s character from 3 Men and a Baby said, “How can something so small create so much of something so disgusting?”), Chew’s farts are equally traumatizing.
Case in point, this past weekend while Jill (excuse me, J-Tru) & I were visiting with my parents we were sitting on the couch in the den meanwhile Chew lay asleep beside us in his bed. Then, suddenly, our nostrils are inflamed with the stink of rotten eggs served sunny-side up with a side of week-old garbage and a sewage chaser.Jill didn’t know what it was but I did – Chew had dropped a bomb on us and all we could do was hunker down until the fallout had cleared. It’s not acrid enough to peel wallpaper though it probably will make you consider the benefits of investing in a HAZMAT suit.
I figure that his digestive system can’t be that different from ours and as such it makes sense that he would pass the occasional butt-cloud. (Our stomachs don’t work that much differently than combustion engines; combustion engines create exhaust and so do we!) Even so, part of what makes his farts so extraordinary (yes, that word can be used in an instance where the topic isn’t particularly rosy) is that I know the types of food which cause me to have similarly stagnant gas (potatoes, cabbage, onions, beans, etc.).I would assume that his stomach behaves comparably, however his food doesn’t seem to be the type of sustenance capable of causing such grotesqueries. It’s not like he’s eating Grape Nuts, for crying out loud, although I’m sure the kibble he’s fed does have a certain amount of fiber to it – everyone needs help staying regular from time to time, I guess.
Probably the worst aspect of Chew’s sulfurous secretions (aside from the smell, of course) is that they come like a burglar in the night, completely unannounced and without warning. When people fart, it usually has a “toot” accompanying it which is simultaneously entertaining (or so it is to me) and something of a warning; it at least affords us the opportunity to move away and seek shelter since we know, thanks to the noise, that something foul this way comes. Chew’s noxious emanations, on the other hand, are definitely of the “silent but deadly” variety, meaning you have no way of knowing you’re about to have your nose hairs singed off at the root until your eyes start watering from the stench.I remember a childhood friend defining the sound of a fart as being “the flapping of excess anal tissue”.Apparently Chew doesn’t have anything extra back there to work with.
Truth be told, Chew is probably the best companion anyone could ask for. He’s loyal, brave (he’ll bark at anything but reserves the right to retreat), easy to maintain, and most of all just plain fun to be around.Sure, Chew’s broken wind is putrid and disgusting, but it is part of what makes the experience of dog-ownership enjoyable. What’s the big deal over a few farts amongst friends, after all?
and so does my husband. Right now as I am typing this he is "resting his eyes". I cannot complain thought because on our ride up the Lancaster today he let me sleep the entire time. He did however listen to his crazy metal music the entire trip but I did not hear a word of it :O). So our trip today was to visit his mother and g-ma. His mother just had surgery this week and we wanted to see if we could help her out for a few days. She is such a strong woman and I am so proud of her, as is Rob, for getting through everything she has been through without complaining. We arrived and went to Wally World to pick up a few items for her and as we were checking out our lovely shopping experience went sour. Rob and I were using a shopping card to pay for our small purchase and our cashier obviously was not having a good day since she had told Rob that she had a headache and that she was not having a good day. After I used one of the cards that had a1.80 on it I then decided to use another that had over 50 dollars on it. She could not figure out how to make it work properly and decided to state "oh great this has to happen at the end of the day". So therefore i became irritated and decided that it wasn't worth getting made over so i just used my debit card. So we then went to Radio Shack to find a battery for his moms phone. They didn't have the one we needed so we went home. After a few moments Rob and I went to Fish Camp.
For those of you who are not familiar with Catawba Fish Camp you are missing out!!! It is the best seafood you can get. I prefer the calabash shrimp while my hubby loves the salt and pepper tilapia. We also get sweet and sour slaw because I am the sweet one and he is the sour one :O). While we were there a lady came over to our table and told me that she worked with my mom and that she had seen the pictures of our wedding on her facebook and thought that our wedding was beautiful. I thought that was so sweet of her to come over and tell us that. I promise I will get those pics on her one day. She had mentioned Ed's portrait that he had pencil sketched of me. It was amazing. He is so talented!! Check him out at www.allenart.com and see the wonderful work he has completed.
We went to Wally World again and purchased a battery for his moms phone but then saw a rather odd outfit. I do think that every person can freely wear what they want no matter what. This young man though had on shoes that were at least 5 inches high. Now this startled me because I cannot wear a high heel that is over an inch without busting my tail. Major props to him for his balance and self esteem.
On our way home another sight I took in was a big booty on the back of a crotch rocket--that was what rob told me. Wow is all I could say. Rob giggled because I did chastise myself for the rude comment I made. I guess I should not be surprised any longer these days about what people wear or do.
On the serious side, my heart goes out to the Wrenn family. Cody will be missed greatly. Many prayers are going up for this family to begin the healing process.
So yesterday, I went under the razor blade and had a mole removed from by right upper back area. I was pretty a little nervous, ok ill admit it TERRIFIED, to have this procedure done b/c I wasn't sure exactly what was going to be done. I went to the office and was told by Joni, my nurse, that she had one removed a few weeks ago and the only thing that hurt was the injection of the numbing fluid. This of course did not help my nerves b/c I hate needles :O) I'm usually OK if i don't see it but it was setting out on the little silver tray so I knew it was coming. Joni did take my blood pressure though and it was normal, before the wedding it had elevated a tiny bit. So my fantastic physician came in and asked about the honeymoon and married life. I told her all about it and by the time I had finished my story the mole was gone!!! The funny thing though that she said before we got started was that she couldn't remember which mole to remove b/c I have so many--she said she will just remove one every year :O) oh fantastic!!!! So now I have a dime size hole on my back that should heal some day. So after leaving the doctors office I went to Walmart and got some Neosproin b/c Rob was not sure if ours had expired. After the trip to Wally World I headed home down Hwy 601. The drive is actually pretty nice b/c I can sing and dance in my car and de-stress from the craziness that happened during the day.
We had leftover baked spaghetti last night which was yummy and then i decided to kick back and not do anything. Rob had a meeting, well he thought he was suppose to have a meeting but no one else showed up so he came back home. I went to the "man" room to look at some stuff on the computer while Rob returned a few items to Wally World--yes i decided to send him with a list via BBM b/c I am lazy. When he returned I cleaned out the fridge b/c we needed some organization in there. The groceries were put up and so I returned to the computer. After a few moments it sounded like I was in the middle of a gun fight in the middle east. Rob decided to play Modern Warfare 2 and it was insane!!!! I nicely went to the living room and he could tell by my face it was super loud. He did turn it down--the bad thing is he didn't have the surround sound on and it was still loud. After the battle ended via XBOX, we decided to prep our veggies for tonight's supper. We are having Turkey Cheddar Brats with pepper and onion and Bakes sweet potatoes :O) yum yum!!! We got a food processor for the wedding so I decided to chop the peppers and onions using it. So I cut the peppers and onions in smaller pieces to go in the shoot and turned it on.....this machine must run at MACH 10 speed because my peppers and onions are more like slaw. My husband seems to think its pulp but its not....just nicely chopped uniform pieces for easier cooking. So needless to say the peppers and onions trial run taught me that this machine is not a toy :O) oh well at least the buns will be able to hold the toppings better.
After our prepping session we went to our chosen room and watched tv. Rob got the HDTV tonight and watched TNA Impact! while I went to the master bedroom and watched The Real Housewives of New York. Those women are insane but its so fun to watch!!! Oh to have that much money and time to waste--I don't think I would want it!!!
After the shows went off it was bedtime and Rob needed to change the band aid on my back. He took my used one off and said that it was a pretty big wound. I didn't want to see it!! He got a new band aid and the neosporin to doctor me up. Men are obviously not suppose to be the one who handles boo-boo's because it was not gently done!!! I told him he does not have the motherly touch and he said well duh Jill I am a man---I walked into that one!!! I do have to give him credit that this morning he did a really good job and being gentle when changing the bandage.
Well hope your day is filled with sunshine and sprinkles :O) ITS FRIDAY!!!! Wahooooooo!!!
So Rob and I have planned to not start a family until we are married for a couple of years. (of course if God decides otherwise for us we would gladly do so) Because of this plan, I am living vicariously through several of my friends who are mommy's :O). I am now "Aunt Jill" to many wonderful little ones and love every minute of it. One of my little rays of sunshine is Rachel. Rachel is my coworker Emily's little girl and she is three months old. She is so sassy and i love it. Emily sends me pictures of this little one and each time i see them i cannot help but smile. I decided that since she brightens my day with her cute little face that i would share a few pics that her mommy sent me..... so here is Miss Rachel :O)
Oh how can you not smile when you look at this precious gift from God. She is too cute.
Well this is all for now but I am sure I will have more to talk about later....
J-Tru (i was told to channel my true rapper name i needed to drop the e :O))
So I have given in and decided that Rob and I should have a blog so that those of you who would like to, can keep up with the shenanigans going on in our world. Who knows how often we will post something but just thought it would be fun :O)-- i will try at least weekly but if i am feeling skippy it could be each and every day!!!
For those in the world who don't know...WE GOT MARRIED!!! Yes ladies and gentlemen Jill Moak is now a Truesdale, hence the Truesdale Times :O) he he!! We got married on May 1 2010 and it was amazing, although the only thing i remember very well is sweating A LOT and being super nervous until I saw his face at the end of the aisle. After the ceremony we greeted a ton of amazing people who attended the wedding and loved every moment of hugging and getting words of support and encouragement. After the hugging, eating, and being pelted with bird seed we began our honeymoon---OH LA LA!!! We went on a four day cruise to the BAHAMAS and then we visited St Augustine, Florida and Savannah, Georgia.
After returning home i managed to wash an entire mountain of clothing in our stacked washer/dryer unit that holds the equivalent of a cup of yogurt in clothing. So yes it took a while. We are loving the married life and the past 11 days have been amazing.
Well keep checking back and pictures will be posted soon!!!!
