remembering WHO is in charge....

So I know its been a while since I blogged but I have been thinking a lot lately about priorities. I have a "plan" for my life but I need to remember that God has HIS plan for my life. God has definitely shown me that HE is in control. I want to buy a house so bad right now but there hasn't really been anything that was perfect or that has come easily. We have put an offer on one house and through negotiations it just didn't pan out. I was upset and made BUT I realize its not the right one. God will provide the right house for us and I just need to be patient in allowing Him to show it to us.

Another thing that has been heavy on my heart is of course being a mommy one day. Rob and I are not ready at this point but we do want to have kids. And of course in my mind the plan should be Buy a house and the have babies. I guess what I need to remember is that any house can be a home for us and our bambinos and that we will be great parents no matter where we live. I want the "American Dream" so badly but I need to just sit back and let God handle it all.

So basically, my priority is to let go and LET GOD. He is in control no matter what I chose so I need to move my butt out of the way and let Him work.

Will do GOD!!!

Frustrated but not Giving Up

So the house hunt is not going as I had planned. Of course I wanted to find the perfect house fast and immediately move in. Not so fast little girl is what I have been told. We has the approval for the money for buying a home but we just cant seem the find THE ONE!! We have put an offer on one but cant seem to get the seller to meet us halfway, so we are letting that one go away. Rob is so level headed about the whole situation but not me. I want a house, and I want it now. Reality though is we need to keep looking. We have house that we are renting and its perfect for now. We are kind of going to take a little break for the hunting, although we will still look, but not four houses every other day like it seemed we were doing. This is a harder hunt than I expected it to be. The right one will be found, I just need to patient and let God show it to us.

Happy Hunting!

HGTV Lied!!! :O)

So last night we made an offer on our first house. I loved this house. HUGE living room, HUGE kitchen. Just perfect for Rob and I. So we met with our agent and we signed on the dotted line, initialed everything and crossed our fingers. We asked for the offer to be back by 5pm today. I stayed in Lugoff last night due to medical appts so I gave our agent my cell number and he could call me at any time today. Well at 8:30am they came back with a counteroffer. Here is a little back-story though.....House was listed at 124,000 been on market for two years, no offers. SOOOOO, we low balled it and went with 100,000 and closing. The owner countered at 120,000 and closing....ok, ok, lets play a little I though. We then offered 110,000 and closing. The owners countered with an AWFUL response of 120,000 and 1/2 closing cost. UMMMMM, did I not hear our realtor correctly??? No, I heard him right. So since Rob and I know what we want to spend we said NO GO!!!

So the hunt goes on......

and the hunting begins!!! :O)

Rob and I have decided to put down some roots here in the big Oburg!! So here is the timeline of what is going on to this point....

2/8/12-- first meeting with our Realtor. Manny wanted to know what we wanted, how much we were willing to pay, and etc. Next step, was to get some money!!

2/15/12--met with Manny again b/c had a few more questions. He directed us to Rodney at SCB&T.

2/24/12-- met with Rodney at SCB&T. He told us we were pre-approved!!! We were so excited!! Called Manny right away and he wanted to meet with us! So we met with him the same night!! We picked out some houses and he told me to send him more and we would set up things for the weekend of the 3rd!! :O)

3/3/12-- mom came to stay the weekend with us and to help with the hunt. We started out around noon at the first house. It was small but cute. I loved the kitchen but need more living room space for me. so ultimately it was a no. the next house was a bigger home in a neighborhood. as a realtor, Manny cannot tell us whether or not neighborhood is good or bad. he did tell us though to take into the account how people decorate there homes and also the yards. well needless to say, mom said no to the neighborhood really fast so that was three more houses as a no--we did look at one and it was AWFUL!! holes in walls and everything...HORRIBLE!! we decided to look at two more today. we went to one in an older neighborhood and the home was nice. it was pretty big but need some updating, i kept it on my list of yay's!so the final house of the day was in a great neighborhood. we know a few people who live in it so we were comfortable there. we walked in and i was like YES YES YES this is it!!! The kitchen is huge, living room huge, back porch, front porch, EVERYTHING I WANT!!! Rob and mom love it too. So Rob and I needed to talk this over. We went to lunch with mom at San Jose. We decided then we wanted to make an offer.

so our next step in the process begins tomorrow!!! we will be sending in an offer and I am so nervous. I do have to continue to keep in mind that if its not meant to be then it wont be. God will lead us where we need to go.

So fingers, toes, etc. CROSSED!!

Best Friend

Kacie,
I miss you so much. I hate that we are miles apart, it stinks. I wish we were right in each others back doors. I am so proud of you for listening to God and following where He wants you to go. I know that everyone you run into in Memphis is blessed by you. You will always be my number one BFF and the one person I tell all my secrets too :O)!! Trust me nothing new has come up but when it does, you will be the first to know--and not via facebook!!!

I have loved getting little notes and packages from you. I need to work on getting some to you too!! I stink at that but wanted to make it resolution this year to do it more.

Remember this, I love you, I miss you, and I am so thankful you are my BFF.

By the way, Rob said we need to make that road trip to Memphis happen, I am going to get to work on that!! :O)

I love you!!!

Several Weeks Worth of Weigh Ins

The past couple of weeks I have not updated on my weight loss journey. So here it goes:

The week of Feb 2 I was up 1.2 pounds. I have noticed a trend that when I lose a big number then I gain a little back the next week. But the other positive of that is that I lose what I gained the next week :O)

Feb 9th I weight in and was down 1.4 pounds!! So that brings my total to 78.4!!!!

I wasn't able to weigh in on Feb 16 due to a dinner date with my beta girls but it was worth missing a meeting to spend time with them.

SO I am now back on track, HOPEFULLY, because this past week I have eaten high on the hog!!! Hoping to get back in the gym and get this weight off!!!

Happy eating to all my friends!!

Valentine Surprise!!!!

I woke up today just like any other day and debated on going to the gym. I decided no about the gym b/c I figured after we went out to supper tonight to either San Jose or House of Pizza I would go then. So I slept in a few minutes longer. When I woke up, I found a card for me by " my chair" in the living room. It was super cute, here is the front of it....

The inside will stay a secret :O) On one side of the card it had a cute poem though that said this:

Take care in tracking what you eat today
Perhaps just have some toast
You might need all your points
Because tonight we dine at Coast!

I looked at Rob and said SERIOUSLY?!?!? Hubby had made reservations for tonight in Charleston at Coast! for us. We had wanted to go in January but we didnt make so he wanted this to be my surprise. SOOO EXCITED!!! So i got ready as usual for today and had no clue what to eat today so I could save my points. I did well until I got work and my boss has red velvet cupcakes for me!! They were good. I decided that today was special so I would be allowed to indulge some.

After work we headed to Charleston. We got there and as always we had a fun time finding parking. We always have some type of adventure when we go places and this was no different. We rode around literally for twenty minutes, parked, and then found the place we wanted to park while walking down John St. It was hilarious and we enjoyed every minute of it. We went to the ATM to get money for parking, then to Cupcake to get dessert for later, and then back to Coast to enjoy our supper.

We arrived and it was really neat that the restaurant was in an alley. We got seated fairly quickly since we were ten minutes early. We has looked at the menu before going so we had an idea of what we wanted to order. I ordered sea scallops wrapped in bacon and grilled with bbq sauce, crab cakes with seasoned fries, slaw, and hush puppies with jalapeno butter---rob ordered these but we shared. The meal was DELICIOUS!!! On the expensive side but wonderful. We did get dessert at Coast even though we had cupcakes in the truck. The dessert we had was white chocolate banana bread pudding, I love bread pudding and this one was good.

We made it back home by 9:45ish and had a night cap of cupcakes! Mine was white chocolate raspberry and robs was hot chocolate.

The entire day was wonderful for me and it was the best valentines day to date!!!

I am so honored that God chose me to be Robs wife. He is the best husband. He is so kind, loving, considerate, compassionate, and goofy all in one!! I love you Robert and cant wait to see what God has in store for us for the rest of our lives!!!

Happy Valentines Day!
